About The Role

An exciting new product line features advanced automation within warehouses. Due to high demand, we are seeking to expand our team of automation development and commissioning engineers for the roll out of this technology. This role will include exciting opportunities for travel to North American installations sites. This role will consider experienced engineers seeking new challenges and junior/graduate engineers looking for an opportunity to work on cutting-edge automation and be trained in this area.

Job description

• Responsible for the configuration and testing of various sensor systems on the autonomous machines, including cameras and LiDAR systems (training provided) during factory testing or a customer installation sites.
• Integration and testing of safety systems for the detection of personnel and obstacles in the path of autonomous vehicles (training provided).
• Working with CANbus and Ethernet communication systems onboard vehicles.
• Generate and maintain requirement and design specifications associated with automated systems.
• Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the maintenance and operation of automated ssystems.
• Develop and maintain in-depth technical knowledge of the wide variety of automation and autonomous systems technologies available and in development.
• Programming and configuration of PLC/IPC systems as required using e.g. CodeSys, Curtis VCL, Python, LabVIEW, C#/C++. Experience in at least one programming language applied to automation will be an advantage.

Qualifications

• B.Eng in a relevant discipline such as Mechatronic Engineering, Robotics, Electronic Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and a keen interest in automation.
• Experience in programming embedded sensor / actuator systems including college projects an advantage.
• A can-do attitude.
